Crispy Rice Paper Dumplings
Crispy rice paper dumplings are just as tasty as traditional dumplings, but they require half the time and effort.
Ingredients
- 12 ounces ground chicken
- 2 green onions minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh gingerroot
- 1 tablespoon chili crisp sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 12 rice papers 8 inches
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
dipping sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili crisp sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- Optional: Sesame seeds and thinly sliced green onions
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients; mix lightly but thoroughly. Fill a shallow bowl with water. Soak a rice paper in the water just until pliable, 30-45 seconds (depending on thickness of rice paper); remove, allowing excess water to drip off.
- Place on a flat surface. Cut in half. Place 1 level tablespoon filling in the center of each half wrapper. Fold top and bottom of rice paper down over filling, fold in sides to create a square. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add dumplings; cook until golden brown on both sides, 3-4 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir together dipping sauce ingredients. Serve hot dumplings with dipping sauce and, if desired, sesame seeds and green onions.
