Microwave Corn on the Cob in the Husk

Cooking corn in the husk in the microwave is easy. This is one of my favorite ways to fix corn on the cob, even when I have several to fix. Without the water from boiling, the corn stays nice and sweet. I hope this helps just one young cook learn how long to cook corn in the microwave.

- 1 ear fresh corn in the husk
Rinse corn in the husk under water briefly. Wrap with a paper towel and place on a microwave-safe plate.
Cook corn in the microwave until hot and cooked through, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from the microwave and let rest for 2 minutes. Remove corn husk.
Cook’s Note
Cooking time is variable. I cook one large ear for 5 minutes in a 1000-watt oven. You will need to adjust the time if you have small ears of corn.
There's no need to remove the corn silk. When you take the husk off, the silk comes right along with it, and your corn is as clean as it can be. Because the corn is hot, I use a clean dishcloth to hold and remove the husk.
