Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons ghee or unsalted butter
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 1-1/2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh gingerroot
- 1-1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1-1/2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 14-1/2 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 16 ounces potato gnocchi
- Freshly chopped cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat ghee in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion; cook until soft, 3-4 minutes. Add garlic, ginger, cumin, garam masala, coriander, chili powder and turmeric; cook until fragrant, 1-2 minutes.
- Add tomatoes, sugar and salt; simmer over medium-low heat until the sauce thickens and the color deepens, 10-15 minutes. Stir in cream, broth, lemon juice and gnocchi; cook until gnocchi is tender, 3-5 minutes.
- To serve, spoon into shallow bowls; garnish with cilantro.
